Optimize your health and well-being with naturopathic medicine.

You can visit a Naturopathic Doctor for almost anything that you can see your medical doctor for.

The difference between these two types of professionals is in the tools we use to treat our patients. A doctor of naturopathic medicine uses diet and lifestyle, clinical nutrition, plant-based (botanical) medicine, as well as acupuncture and homeopathy, to treat and prevent future disease and imbalances before they happen. We practice individualized medicine with a goal of educating and empowering our patients to make sustainable changes that will help them achieve optimal health.

“Your body holds deep wisdom. Trust in it. Learn from it. Nourish it. Watch your life transform and be healthy.”

Core Services

Nutrition & Vitamins

Clinical nutrition is the study of the relationship between food and a healthy body. The importance of diet and nutrition on disease prevention and treatment cannot be underestimated! You can expect your appointments with me to include a detailed discussion about what you are currently eating and how we can best optimize diet to address your health goals. Vitamins may be a part of this plan if we determine that diet alone cannot address your goals. Let’s base these on YOUR unique needs and get you using the best quality supplements for the most benefit to you!

Plant-Based Medicine

Did you know that many pharmaceutical medications are based on the action of a single plant or combination of plants found in nature? Botanical or herbal medicine is a medical system based on the use of plants and plant extracts, taken internally or used topically, as treatment. Naturopathic doctors have extensive training in the use of plant-based medicine.

Lifestyle Counselling

Lifestyle counseling is a way of identifying and addressing the impact that our daily habits can have on our overall health. As part of your initial intake, and throughout your treatment, we will chat about the importance of lifestyle habits - exercise, sleep, social support/connection, stress and stress management, time management and so much more.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) involving the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific points in the body. According to TCM, energy flows through channels throughout the body. When the body is healthy, this energy, or qi, flows freely and effectively. When the energy is stuck, not moving in the right direction or sluggish, this is when dis-ease can occur. It is my job as the practitioner to identify the points and channels that need addressing, in order to stimulate the body’s healing response, promoting physical and mental/emotional health.

How it Works

Initial Consultation

One thing I say to all of my new patients is that ND’s have the luxury of time! I don’t want to hear about one symptom in isolation, I want to hear about it all – your diet, digestion, stress, sleep, energy, etc. Your initial appointment is 90 minutes and it’s a deep dive into ALL aspects of your health.

Personalized Plan

Your individualized plan will be based on your symptoms, including recent blood work, as well as your unique health concerns and goals. You will leave my office knowing EXACTLY what you need to do, why I am asking you to do it, what benefit you should expect to see and when we’ll meet again.

Testing & Lab Work

I work with your medical doctor whenever I can, often asking for a copy of recent blood work or even sending you with a wishlist for levels we’d like to see run. ND’s can also run blood work and I do it often for my patients as a means of assessment and disease prevention.

Ongoing Support

I will be your biggest cheerleader, your troubleshooter and your accountability coach all in one. Every time we meet, we’ll reassess your needs and how they are being met with the plan we have in place. From there we work and tweak until you are feeling your best… and then provide the necessary support to keep you there!
