“Health is a relationship between you and your body.”

– Terri Guillemets

Hi, I’m Dr. Jody Snider.

I am a licensed Naturopathic Doctor (ND), registered with TC-CONO. I completed my undergraduate degree at Acadia University with honours in Psychology. I graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in 2010, my studies included a one-year internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic (RSNC), as well as a placement at the Sherbourne Health Centre, treating patients with HIV and AIDS.

After getting my degree, I moved to Horseshoe Valley and quickly fell in love with this beautiful area and the people in it! My family of 4 (+ 1 furry child) enjoys hiking  or snowshoeing this beautiful area and generally spending as much time as we can in the great outdoors. I love to eat and cook and do both as often as I possibly can. I also enjoy spinning, pilates and yoga and join in on one of the amazing classes offered in the Orillia and Oro Medonte areas whenever my schedule allows.

One thing you will quickly learn about me is just how passionate I am about naturopathic medicine. I have a deep respect for the field, how powerful its tools and treatments are, and how profoundly they can change a life for the better. I believe in empowering my patients to be proactive and involved in their own health goals.

I pride myself on providing an environment free of judgment, one in which you feel safe to discuss whatever is on your mind. I am not perfect, nor do I expect perfection from my patients. Health is truly about balance, something we all struggle with and need guidance with from time to time.

I believe that true and sustainable health is only achievable when we first address the foundational pillars of health and well-being: Nutrition, Exercise, Sleep and Connection.

Nutrition

Simply put, we are what we eat! I love seeing the light bulb moment in my patients, that moment when they make the connection that they feel better, mentally, emotionally AND physically, when they are fueling themselves with the right nutrient dense foods.

Exercise

Moving your body doesn’t have to be complicated, but it is absolutely vital to our health. A lack of exercise puts us at a higher risk of mortality - increasing the risk of mental and physical disease. Our bodies are meant to move. I can get you started on a plan or individualize your plan so you are getting the most out of your current routine.

Sleep

Sleep is a time for our brain and body to recover and repair from our day to day. Without quality sleep, we are simply not operating as our best selves, both mentally and physically. Maybe we need to improve sleep hygiene or get you into a better night time routine, maybe we need to look at hormones or blood sugar or nutrient deficiency. Whatever your unique needs are, we’ll get to the root of the issue and get you sleeping better.

Connection

We are social beings, hardwired to develop and maintain interpersonal connection.Talking to an ND is the first step in the right direction. I want to make sure that my patients have a good support system in place, people to talk to. If they don’t, we build it. Connection is an all too often overlooked foundation of total health.
